At long last I have launched my website! Big thanks to my sister, Sonya who put countless hours designing this, yes she is open for business. Also thanks to brother Sam for his editing eye. Big thanks to Jesse McDougall of Catalyst WebWorks for helping us build and launch this site.
While I hope to get lots of work form this website and sell some pieces, I also regard this as an archive and a work in progress. All the best!

Henry Homeyer starts the interview with “I visited Sculpture Fest, a fabulous display of outdoor art organized each fall in Woodstock, and I realized you don’t have to be an artist to create colorful and interesting garden art. Yes, the display at Sculpture Fest was done by accomplished professionals, but I feel that even I could put together pleasing colors and forms for the garden – even though I couldn’t draw anything more complicated than a Christmas tree in grade school…” Listen to the podcast to hear the whole interview.

In 2006, I went for two weeks and created a piece of outdoor pageantry and environmental theater with artists and students. This video shows the process of that production. Many thanks to Colleen Bozuwa for her great work as the videographer.

My life continues to be an unpredictable journey in which I strive to maintain a balance between creativity and sustainability, or what sometimes feels like a choice between the practical and the impractical: Shall I grow food or make art? Can growing food be art? What am I called to do in this life? What really matters?
As we find ourselves on the edge of either a “great turning” where humanity realizes it’s potential and enters a new type of enlightenment and prosperity, or we plunge off the cliff toward mutually assured destruction because of greed and short sightedness, such questioning seems all the more poignant.
Being an optimist, and having brought children into this world, I believe we have no choice but to try to make the world a better place. For me that sometimes means growing things in my backyard, empowering others to be creative or making something beautiful out of stuff that’s been thrown away. It’s why I have been living in an eco-village for the past decade and have struggled to find a balance between self, family, and community.
